Default possibility of falling off cliffs

i think it would be kind of more fun if people could fall of cliffs, particularly in pvp where (especially meelee) will lock on to you and not really control character but use skills. you can lure them into the lava and stuff but to lure people off cliffs in pvp through teleportation spells would be awesome and add new strategy to the game.

No.
There'd need to be a Z-Axis first.

You dont quite get it, the z axis in GW is very limited. It may be 3d but the game doesnt really work in 3d. Thats why you can set of traps that are above and below you, and attack stuff on higher levels than you etc.

GW2 will have a working z axis. Hence the reasons you can jump, climb etc. So look for something like this in GW2. But GW just doesnt support it.

you cant jump yes, but you should be able to fall, would make game more interactive, also if they made some area and effect spells able to push people some it could be quite funny and useful new way to play the game.

Falling is just jumping in reverse

It cant and wont happen in GW. Sorry to dash your hopes. But GW2 looks like it will have stuff like that.

So we're looking at a new GvG build with 8 a/xs who lure you off cliffs? Win.

I agree with Isileth. The game doesn't support such a feature.

still... GW2 in "only" a year and a half away....

Even if they were to add it it couldn't work like you want to, if there was a cliff you would just be stuck to the ground going down a steep cliff and yeah, we cant have this in GW,not that we don't want it but the ability to do that just isn't there.

In GW2 as has been said this will likely be possible.

I don't think there are any GvG maps where you could fall of anyways , are there?

Falling off cliffs = lots of dead Cartographers.

/no. Not for GW1.

Like alex said, there's no z-axis for object movement in this game. Graphics are rendered in 3D, but everything interacts in two dimensions only.

Because accidentally slipping off a ledge halfway through the mission and get stuck in an unescapable pit is so much FUN and IMMERSIVE!

I'll stick with lava and spiked coral as the biggest environmental hazards.

for the tenth time, there's no z axis

besides that, the unintended consequences would far outweigh the 'benefit' of falling off cliffs (wait, what's the benefit?)

They'd have to account for every single nitch and crany in the maps of all the missions in Guild Wars. It isn't a small change. It isn't something that can be avoided either, since henchies and even human players would get caught and could never escape.

It's another "Wouldn't it be cool if..." idea. Cool idea, no sense of practicality.

Would be fun, with a temporarty god mode skill. New places to discover for the cartographers.

I suppose this suggestion will come naturally in GW2.

It's just not possible to be implemented in the actual version, unless made in a very limited way that would probably be more of a nuisance than a fun thing.

GW2 exists because it can't be done in GW1.

/notsigned, because I don't wanna die while going for Cartographer, I don't want my hench/heroes to die while targeting something on the other side of a canyon, and this is really unneccessary and difficult to implement.

Besides, I like that I can kill things in a tower 15 feet above my head by attacking a door. XD It pleases me.
